Rangers have been handed a stark warning from UEFA following incidents during the recent European tie against Fenerbahce at Ibrox. The most serious outcome is a suspended closure of the Copland Stand—a punishment that will hang over the club for the next two years should there be any repeat of racist or discriminatory behaviour.

Let’s be crystal clear: there is no room for racism or discrimination at Rangers. The overwhelming majority of fans will agree with that wholeheartedly. But once again, a small minority have brought unnecessary scrutiny and punishment upon the club and the wider support.

The banner in question—“Keep Woke Foreign Ideologies Out. Defend Europe”—sparked confusion among many inside Ibrox. While its intent may be debated among supporters, UEFA’s interpretation was firm: they’ve judged it to fall under the banner of discriminatory conduct. And like it or not, UEFA makes the rules in these competitions, and we’re the ones left to deal with the consequences.

Beyond the European stage, the club also confirmed a reduction of 500 tickets for the next latter-stage Premier Sports Cup match at Hampden, following the use of pyrotechnics at Parkhead during the Old Firm. If that behaviour continues, it could lead to a further 800 ticket cut in future ties.

The club is now issuing lifetime bans to those responsible for the discriminatory banner. And we support that. Because while passion, noise, colour, and energy are what make Rangers support so powerful, there’s a clear line that can’t be crossed.

Let’s keep Ibrox a fortress for football. Displays and fan choreography? Absolutely. But let’s keep it about the game. No politics, no ideologies, no distractions from the thing that unites us all—Rangers.

The truth is this: one more step out of line, and we risk seeing a packed Copland Stand silenced for a crucial European night. Not only would that damage the club’s finances and reputation, it would hurt the team on the pitch—and thousands of blameless fans in the stands.

Rangers have always prided ourselves on being a club of dignity, history and strength. It’s time the actions of every single supporter reflected that.

Let’s keep our focus where it belongs: backing the team, filling Ibrox with noise, and helping Rangers chase silverware at home and abroad.
