The stage is set for a thrilling clash as Rangers gear up to take on Aberdeen at Ibrox tomorrow in what promises to be a compelling encounter. The match, scheduled to kick off at 8 pm, will be officiated by Don Robertson. For those unable to attend the game in person, the good news is that it will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Events.

Aberdeen Review Before Rangers Game

The spotlight on Aberdeen intensified this morning with the announcement of Neil Warnock as the interim manager until the end of the season. The Dons were without a leader until today, and Warnock’s appointment brings a wealth of managerial experience that could potentially rejuvenate Aberdeen’s campaign.

Aberdeen’s recent performance against Celtic, resulting in a commendable 1-1 draw, showcased resilience and determination. However, despite the positive result, they find themselves in the 8th position in the league. Their last victory came against Clyde in the Scottish Cup, with draws against St. Johnstone and Dundee, along with a 2-0 defeat to Hearts.

A key player for Aberdeen that Rangers will need to closely monitor is Bojan Miovski, who has been in scintillating form, scoring 12 goals – the second-highest in the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers Looking to go Top of the League

Rangers, on the other hand, are looking to capitalise on the opportunity to surge to the top of the league. A win by three goals against Aberdeen would see them leapfrog their rivals and establish a clear lead at the summit. Manager Philippe Clement emphasised the team’s focus on their own performance, treating the league as a marathon rather than a sprint.

When asked if going top of the league entered the Rangers Managers thinking he responded:

Totally not. No. Zero. Totally not. We have the same mindset and I see it in the players also. Nobody in the building is talking about that. We are just busy with our own game, having a respect for our opponents, knowing their qualities, trying to use their weaknesses and taking the points by playing good football and entertaining our fans and keeping this really strong team mentality that is in the dressing room now.

Rangers will face some challenges with the absence of key players. In the pre-match press conference, Clement revealed that Ryan Jack will miss the Aberdeen game as the club manages his recovery from various injuries. Additionally, Leon Balogun, who was withdrawn from the Livingston game with a facial injury, will also be absent. Balogun is set to consult with a specialist to determine if surgery is necessary.

Ibrox Insiders Predicted Lineup

Goalkeeper: Butland
Defenders: Tavernier, Goldson, Souttar, Yilmaz
Midfielders: Lundstram, Raskin, Cantwell
Forwards: McCausland, Matondo, Silva

Excitement surrounds the potential debut of new signing Cortes during the match, and fans are hopeful to witness Diomande in action if he has recovered in time.

As the anticipation builds, all eyes will be on Ibrox tomorrow night to see if Rangers can secure a convincing victory and assert their dominance at the top of the league.
